At Tat Erase we are constantly evolving to offer you the best technology on the market, and with Syneron Candela the advancements never stop. Here is a breakdown of the laser technology we use:
Syneron Candela and The PicoWay Laser System
Syneron Candela is the Apple of the cosmetic device industry. It continuously imagines and produces aesthetic devices that shatter norms of cosmetology. Among tools to contour body fat and remove cellulite, the company offers a line of laser technology unlike any other: The PicoWay Laser System. The technology used in this system is the first of its kind. Offering a two-for-one therapy, the device pioneered a triple-wavelength process. It’s the world’s only laser to do so; operating at 1064 nm, 785 nm, and 532 nm wavelengths respectively, it is able to safely treat ALL skin types. It also uses the highest power and shortest pulse duration of any other device on the market for superior precision and comfort.
What does it do?
Ideally we want lasers to target only ink and leave surrounding skin untouched. Tattoos absorb one kind of wavelength (closer to the infrared side of the light spectrum) and your skin absorbs other kinds of wavelengths (throughout the band of ultraviolet, visible and infrared regions). Other lasers operate on only one side of the spectrum, leaving either your tattoo or your skin at a disadvantage. Not PicoWay. The Picoway pros carefully selected three wavelengths, two on different sides of the light spectrum and one in the middle, to concentrate maximum laser energy where you want it — not where you don’t. Because of this revelation, treatment can be performed with minimal adverse effects on your skin. Score for you and your skin.
Okay, but what’s so special about it?
Let’s cut the medical jargon. Basically, this laser is as accurate, powerful and safe as it gets. This means quicker, safer and more effective treatments. Three wavelengths allow the laser to cover all bases and from professional to amateur ink, to green, blue, black, yellow, orange, red, and every variation or aberration in between. The ultrashort pulses allow the laser to make a stronger impact on ink for better clearance in fewer treatments. Even recalcitrant tattoos – proven to be resistant to other types of lasers – give into the power of Picoway.
Still not convinced? Here’s what the experts say:
Eric Bernstein, MD | Main Line Center for Laser Surgery, Ardmore, PA
“This is the first, ever, 785 nm wavelength picosecond-domain laser in the world. This novel addition to the PicoWay enables optimal treatment for blue and green tattoos, and is a welcome addition to the 532 and 1,064 nm wavelengths already available with the PicoWay. I am extremely impressed with Jay Bhawalkar and his engineering team at Candela, who developed the PicoWay. The new 785 nm wavelength further enhances the already strong capabilities of the PicoWay platform for tattoo removal, adding to its ability to rapidly and safely clear multicolored tattoos. I am thrilled to offer this new wavelength to my patients, and honored to have lead the clinical trial leading to FDA clearance of the PicoWay and this new wavelength.”
Terrence Keaney, MD | Associate, Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery USA
“In our experience, the short pulse duration on the PicoWay laser allows us to clear tattoos faster than traditional Q-switched lasers. The Nd:YAG 532/1064nm wavelengths also treats a greater variety of tattoo colors and skin types with minimal downtime. The laser is safe and effective, and patients are very pleased with the results.”
Arielle N.B. Kauvar, MD | Director, New York Laser & Skin Care USA
“The PicoWay Nd:YAG laser allows us to treat a broader range of skin types and a wide array of tattoo ink colors. With the ultra-short picosecond pulse duration, there is less discomfort during treatment and faster healing. Professional and multi-colored tattoos are cleared in far fewer treatment sessions than with conventional Q-switched lasers.”
